Northern Lithium’s Northern Pennine Shared Prosperity Fund
Over the last couple of years, Northern Lithium Ltd has sponsored several local initiatives in the immediate vicinity of Eastgate and Westgate. This has been done on an informal basis and helped underpin the efforts of several groups.
The Northern Pennine Shared Prosperity Fund (NPSPF) has been created by Northern Lithium Ltd to extend its support to good causes within the parishes of Stanhope and Wolsingham and surrounding villages.
Tell us about a community project or idea that either needs a helping hand to get going or continue operating. We’re open minded about the types of schemes the Fund will support but we do want to promote inclusivity and diversity wherever possible.
The Fund will be administered by an independent committee representing local residents, community bodies such as parish councils and Northern Lithium Ltd.
Members will assess all grant bids and can make awards of up to £999. Please see the eligibility criteria below for full details.
Grant applications for £1,000 or more will be managed in conjunction with the charitable County Durham Community Fund.
You have until the 31st of May to submit grant applications. Awards will be announced before the 30th of June.
We welcome requests from individuals and groups. To be considered just prove you either live or work locally and tell us how your project will be of benefit to the area.
The NPSPF will not support the following:
- Projects outside the above parishes although residents immediately on the edge of these parishes will also be considered
- Charities with no independent office in the above parishes
- Schemes that schools or others have a statutory responsibility to provide
- Commercial or sponsored events
- Political activities
- Deficit or retrospective funding
- Revenue costs
- Bids not sustainable beyond the grant year
- Any element of commercial profit
- Applications by persons with unspent convictions
The NPSPF reserves the right to reject any grant application that it feels does not comply with the eligibility requirements.
When requesting funds we ask that you first read our terms eligibility criteria above and then submit via email an Expression of Interest (EOI). We will reply to each request and indicate if you have been invited to complete a full application.
To ensure the best use of the available funds you will be able to submit one Expression of Interest per year.
Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to try again in subsequent years. We look forward to learning more about you and your project.
